About Michael
Hi there, my name is Michael True, and I am a landscape photographer based in Wentzville, Missouri. My interest in art started in high school when I took a variety of art classes including drawing, where we studied the relationships between composition, lighting and perspective. Then when I joined the Marine Corps, I purchased my first camera, a basic film camera, and started documenting my world and travels. I took my camera with me most places just in case something caught my eye along the way. While overseas, some of my images were published in our overseas deployment yearbook.
Continuing to develop this creative passion, I took college classes to learn both the technical and creative aspects of art towards a fine art degree in photography. After college I worked different day jobs, started a family and opened what would become a successful part-time wedding, senior and family portrait studio for three years. The challenge was satisfying and I learned so much about portraiture as well as the business of photography but I also felt overwhelmed, like I may have bitten off too much all at once. I closed the studio, but have enjoyed creating images ever since.
Now, after a successful 25 year IT career, I am reinvigorating my life long passion for photography and focusing on it full time. Join me as I journey back into all things photography with an emphasis on outdoor, landscape and aerial imagery.
Thanks for stopping by,
- Michael
